Jang Keun Suk Best Man at Manager's Wedding - 2017-03-25

On Tuesday, March 20, we learned through the media that Tree-J Director Kim Byeong Gun (also known as Gunsama) was getting married on Saturday, March 25, at the Catholic Cathedral in Myeong-dong, Seoul. The planned service was private and not open to the public or the media. Thus, when the media broke the story both JKS and Gunsama, JKS’ long time manger, were very surprised that the wedding received so much attention. The bride and groom had been dating for three years, but the couple kept their relationship secret from the public.; even the news articles failed to disclose her name. The media, however, revealed that Kim Byeong Gun asked JKS to be one of the witnesses…in other words, his best man. Of course, JKS agreed.

Because of JKS’ popularity, Tree J - JKS’ management agency - feared that they would be flooded with gifts and flowers or that hundreds of fans would gather around church to watch and take pictures. Consequently, Tree J politely asked all the fan clubs to delete any media stories or speculative posts and to ask members to respect the privacy of the couple and the ceremony. The fan clubs obliged…and by Wednesday all noise about the wedding ceased.

So, Saturday arrives….and the bride’s identity is revealed. She’s none other than Cherry Jang (Jang Chae Ri). Cherry worked at Tree J for years as the manager of marketing. However, Korea has strict employment laws which required that one of the couple resign. Cherry chose to do so and, then, departed for a month’s vacation in Paris, France. She apparently arrived back in Seoul not too long before the ceremony was scheduled.

The guest list read like a who’s who of Gunsama’s and JKS’ close associates and friends: Big Brother (Jung Kurt), Akiyama (aka Choo Sung Hoon), Kim Won Jong and Yonghyun Kim (JKS’ dancers), Prhyme (a close friend), JKS’ mother, and of course all of Tree J.

While the guest list was not overly large, the guests were all friends and work mates of the couple.  Jang Keun Suk stood up beside Gunsama at the alter and gave away his best friend. Gunsama has been with JKS since he filmed the drama, Hwang Gi Ni, in 2006. Their work relationship became a deep and trusting friendship during those 12 long years.  The two not only worked together, they also played together. Now, JKS was standing beside his close friend as he got married.

The bride and groom were beautiful and elegant. She wore a gown from Harry teak York, and his tuxedo was made by tailorable & co.

During the ceremony when not standing by the groom''s side, JKS sat quietly in the pews along with everyone else.

After the ceremony, JKS posted to his IG account: He is gone..πŸ˜‡

Nevertheless, you can see how happy JKS was following the ceremony.

Following the ceremony the newly wed couple left the church.

And everyone gathered outside on the plaza.

Then, one final group picture for the happy newlyweds to remember the day....

From Eels everywhere around the world, Best Wishes to the Newlyweds!
