[Charity] Jang Keun Suk's Cri-J gears up promotions for Sharing Photo Exhibition - 2017-08-5

With the help this year by the JAPAN EELS+ fan club, Cri-J has begun promoting the 5th annual Jang Keun Suk Sharing Photo Exhibition for 2017. Posters are going up all around Gangnum and near the venue where the exhibition will take place. Since JKS' Japan Official Fan Club, in coordination with Frau International, scheduled an official fan club event in Seoul that weekend of Sept 2nd and 3rd, we can expect a large number of Japanese Eels at the exhibition, as usual, as well as at Cafe PLENO and the Seoul Fan Meeting. Nevertheless, Korean and other International Eels will flock to the exhibit to show their support for Jang Keun Suk (praying they are among the lucky few who will actually see him) and for the charitable activities of Cri-J, of which this is only one.

For those who are new to Jang Keun Suk Land, this annual non-profit photo exhibition - which by the way includes many other forms of original art from paintings to sculptures to needlepoint and a host of other artistic forms - raises money for various charity endeavors. Cri-J has donated to the Namsanwong Children's Orphanage, to The Snail of Love to restore the hearing of young children, to providing rice, baby food and nappies for infants to low income and needy families, and to renovate an animal center. Each year, Cri-J evaluates where the spend the money they raise from the exhibition and donates it all. Nothing is kept in the coffers of Cri-J.

Cri-J members take their lead from Jang Keun Suk who has donated millions (USD) of his own money to charity. Last year, he personally brought a young Mongolian teenage girl suffering from ovarian cancer to Korea for treatment and paid for her lodging, treatment and hospitalization. In addition, he has supported Namsanwong Children's Orphanage for decades and was voted onto the Korean UNICEF board for his charitable giving. And that doesn't even include the billions of Won he's given to Hanyang University's hospital and scholarship funds.

Last year, for Jang's 29th birthday exhibition, some 1,500 fans from Korea and abroad visited the two day Sharing Photo Exhibition event and raised a total of 50 million won ($45,000 USD). With the current 2017 confluence of events the weekend of the exhibition, Cri-J may be able to raise even more Won...and, thus, provide even more help for more children and needy families.

There are a lot of reasons to support Jang Keun Suk: his remarkable acting; his wonderful singing voice; his amazingly good looks; his dry wit and love of teasing his eels; the enigma of his intellectual and spontaneous personality. But the foremost reason to adore him is his generosity.

Cri-J embodies this latter aspect of Jang Keun Suk and works hard every single day of every single month of every single year to live up to a standard of charitable giving they've set for the club and themselves which every member believes reflects Jang Keun Suk's own charitable giving. On August 1, Cri-J tweeted "2017 Sharing Photo Exhibition bus stop advertising started August 1! (Location: Gangnam Ward Office Station, Exit 4) Screen door advertising will start soon in Hangangjin Station, where photo shows are held. All of these sharing photo exhibition advertisements were sponsored by JAPAN EELS+! Thank you.

On August 3, Cri-J tweeted another announcement about the Photo Exhibition advertising. "2017 Sharing Photo Exhibit began on August 2 at Hangangjin Station near where the photo exhibition is being held. (Sponsorship: JAPAN EELS+) Thank you very much for your participation! Thank you!"

Since then, Eels have taken photos of the posters in and around Gangnum and the venue where the exhibition is scheduled to take place on September 2nd and 3rd.

All of us at The Eels Family wish to thank CRI-J for their time and efforts planning and organizing this charity event each year. We members of TEF (and Cri-J) are so very proud of the hard work of our sisters on behalf of JKS and the many people who are helped by the proceeds of this exhibition and all the other charitable the club holds each year. We are beyond proud of you, Cri-J!
