[video] Jang Keun Suk's "Human Time" previewed at Berlin Film Fest - 2018-02-18

The International Berlin Film Festival screened Human, Time, Space, Human and posted a short video clip to its website. Already the film has generated controversy over it's somewhat dark theme regarding the nature of humans...just as we were told some time ago that it would. Kim Ki Duk's films always generate controversy and continuing discussion because they portray both the contradictory - good and horrible - nature of human beings.

This film apparently shows that contradiction in stark relief. As KKD has said about his previous films, his films are meant to enlighten (i.e., answer questions or spark conversations about humanity and human relationships) and answer questions he has about the nature of humans and those of the film's viewers as well. It may well be that KKD has taken this film one step further into exploring the very primal nature of survival of humanity...and perhaps as well of its redemption.

But one thing is certain, this film, as with all KKD films, is not for the faint of heart. And it is why JKS appearing in it is such a breakthrough for his film career. The film presents him with a totally different character than the ones we've come to associate him with. As an actor, that must be gratifying.

(FYI, the following clip has no volume. That is it is read the subs.)
